Sue Me
Posted on Monday 4 December 2006

So some coder made a BlueTooth ‘driver’ and a scripting language to work with the Wii-Remote.
On his application’s site he says:

NOTE! You may not use this software on military bases, or for military purposes, or in Israel (which amounts to the same thing). Violation of the license agreement will be prosecuted. See the readme for the license agreement.

In addition to this, he also adds in the program’s ReadMe:

* You may not export this software to Israel, or use it in Israel (including the occupied territories), until Israel has ended its occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, and anywhere else it may occupy. If you try to run it in Israel it will give you an error.

Well guess what I did? That’s right. I (being from Israel) used this little application.
Don’t believe me?

That’s what I call, PWND.

Now I didn’t see any kind of this "Error" while this program is running in Israel. But if the author wants, he can sue me.

I’m waiting.

Why don’t you respect the authors wishes?

    This just sounds ungrateful.

I doubt Carl Kenner thought people was going to respect that license. If a country doesn’t respect other countries’ people life, why should they respect a text license?

I used to live in Israel. The creator of that Wii thingy is way too radical, like some nasty muslims(note: a few never define the whole). He thinks that little app will end conflicts, etc.

BTW: Will there ever be a EZ-Flash IV compatible version of your WS emu for DS?
    Bevakasha!! =)

Hey liranuna, I just found your site today and am extremely impressed by your work! Reading this post about the coder and his ridiculous readme file made me laugh out loud. People are crazy nowadays. Keep up the great work!

I’ve started an email convesation with Kenner. He views israel as an “apartheid”, “artificial” state which is guilty of commiting “ethnical cleansing”. I’ve spent some time trying to explain to the guy that this is not the case, we’ll see if it will do any good (I doubt it).

though google-ing some info about him revealed that he is an australian, I asked him what are his views about the australian cleansing of the aboriginian culture. I’m waiting to see if he’ll add an ani-australian clause in his EULA.

still waiting for an answer on that one..

You say that, but did you actually try running the application. All I see is you opening it in wine. Will it actually run properly though?

people need more things to do with their time then acting out racial stands over a maybe 245kb application that really wont be used for much at all or by many in that case.

and the programmer should be smart enough to know that was wrong all together.

How did you get that running in Linux?!? I’d like to use glovePIE in Linux as the WMD drivers are just…too much scripting and stuff. I’m using Ubuntu 7.04 and I have a bluetooth USB adapter.

Since living in a country means you agree with what it does, I have to agree that the program coder is a genius.

Good work mate. That Carl Kenner is being an asshole, and so are the majority of commentors.

The Israeli war is none of your fucking business. So you cannot judge them when you assholed americans do ten times the worse shit as that (weapons of mass destruction anyone?).
