dualSwan v1.2 Release

Posted on Wednesday 14 June 2006

There you go, dualSwan 1.2 released.
Still no sound, and some games are below 20FPS, but the re-write was worth it!
Why? Because now some games are running in full speed and even passes it (200FPS baby!).

dualSwan will work only with CF/SD based flashcarts, and will load any WonderSwan ROM that is smaller then 4MB (Need to write dynamic bank loading…).

The SPU isn’t yet emulated - this means there is no sound.
Sources are released too. You are free to modify and re-release your own version (Something like unofficial Goomba) but please don’t claim it yours.

I was working hard on this emulator to make it what it is now, even if it’s not perfect yet.
I’d appreciate any positive comments, as well as Donations and clicks on the site’s ads.

Download on dualSwan’s official page.

How do you use GBFS? All I have is a flashcard and no SD or CF hardware…

this is excellent - i own a wonderswan and many games, but can see it gathering dust in the not too distant future.
am particularly keen to see beatmania WS working at full speed. it’s a class game.
the menu system seems fine to me - dead intuitive -
would it be too much to beg a list on your site of current games which work at full speed?
it’d give an idea too how your dev is going.
keep up the good work - the WS was a brilliant handheld and this will bring it to new age gamers. ironic that it was a nintendo handheld ( gba) which killed it off.

    all the best!

Does it need a rom builder to recognize roms?

Ohhh, I see. WonDerS v1.1 has GBFS but other versions of WonDerS and dualSwan don’t… why is that?

You should use the .ds.gba version renamed to .nds

The devs aren’t thinking of the flashcart users these days… *sigh* I guess I should buy a GBAMP then I wouldn’t have to beg for GBFS support.

Are you talking about flashing your GBAMP or your DS? If you are flashing your GBAMP there is nothing that can go wrong really and if you are flashing your DS just plug it into power and tape the battery in while you are doing it. You’ll be fine.

    Thats strange…

Anyway, I got WonDerS 1.1 running on my flash card with GBFS and this is a great emulator. The speed was not very good but I bet it is a lot better in later versions. The graphics were amazing I barely saw any graphical errors while playing Mr. Driller.
